Alfa Laval LKBV Air Blow ValveAlfa Laval LKBV Air Blow Valve

The Alfa Laval Air Blow Check Valve is a durable, spring-loaded valve engineered to efficiently evacuate pipelines of product residue or Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) media. Part of Alfa Laval's portfolio of valves and automation for hygienic use, this plug-type check valve is also ideal for controlled air agitation within pipelines, tanks and vessels, promoting uniformity and enhancing product quality.
In addition to ensuring hygienic discharge, the LKBV Air-blow Valve supports pipeline air-drying, which helps form a protective oxide layer, boosting corrosion resistance and extending system longevity.

Features

Benefits

  • Easy to install in vertical or horizontal positions using Tri-Clamp, gasket and mounting ferrule
  • Can be mounted on the end of the "Y" branch of a ball check valve to evacuate product or CIP media

  • Fail-safe operation: prevents backflow of product or CIP media
  • Quick assembly/disassembly with Tri-Clamp® connections
  • Remote operation via controlled air supply
  • Rugged AISI 316 stainless steel construction with spherical EPDM-bonded plug assembly
  • Compliant with 3-A Accepted Practices for hygienic air filtration applications

How does LKBV Air Blow Valve work?

During operation, filtered air is introduced into the adapter (A), building pressure against the valve plug assembly (B). This pressure forces the plug forward, unseating it and allowing air to pass through the valve and into the pipeline or tank. Once the air supply is turned off, the internal spring automatically returns the plug assembly to its closed position, effectively preventing any backflow of product or CIP solution.
FAQ

What is the function of the blow valve?
The function of a blow valve like the Alfa Laval LKBV is to evacuate product or CIP media from pipelines and tanks, assist in line drying and prevent backflow, ensuring hygienic operation and corrosion resistance.

How does the Alfa Laval Air Blow Check Valve help in preventing corrosion?
The Air Blow Check Valve promotes air drying of lines, which helps form a protective oxide film on pipelines, thereby minimizing the risk of corrosion and maintaining the integrity of the system.

What is the Alfa Laval Air Blow Check Valve used for in product agitation and CIP solution evacuation?
The Alfa Laval Air Blow Check Valve is used for evacuating lines of product or CIP (Cleaning In Place) solution, as well as for air agitation of product in tanks and other vessels. This helps to ensure uniformity in product quality and protect pipelines from corrosion.
