Alfa Laval SB Membrane Sampling Valve
The Alfa Laval SB Membrane Sampling Valve is a compact and cost-effective solution for taking bulk or aseptic samples under sterile conditions from tanks and pipework. Designed for hygienic applications in the brewery, food, dairy, and beverage industries, it is particularly effective for sampling highly viscous products such as harvest yeast. This hygienic sampling valve minimizes the risk of contamination while ensuring accurate, repeatable, and reliable sampling performance.

How does SB Membrane Sampling Valve work? |
|
The valve is available in three connection types—tank, pipe, and threaded—all operating on the same principle. Before opening the valve, a closure must be fitted to the upper hose connection. Turning the handle to the horizontal position initiates sample flow through the lower outlet. Returning the handle to the vertical position stops the flow, and the handle may be removed if desired. For aseptic sampling, a special version of the valve features a microport. Removing the red cap allows a hypodermic needle to be inserted through a central channel into the membrane, enabling sampling with the valve closed. After sampling, the valve should be flushed with water or alcohol and sterilized using alcohol or steam |
